The Skechers AERO Glow in the Dark series brings a seasonal update to two performance running shoes as shorter days push more training into the early morning and evening. The AERO Spark SI and AERO Burst SI now feature outsoles that glow after exposure to natural or artificial light.
A Glow Added to Existing Designs
Rather than introducing an entirely new platform, Skechers has adapted two established AERO silhouettes. Both models retain their performance-focused construction and Hands Free Slip-ins technology, while the outsole treatment provides the visual change.
The shoes need to be exposed to light before use. Once the surrounding conditions become darker, the outsole glow becomes visible, giving the footwear a distinctive look on early or late runs.
For runners, the update adds a playful element without changing the central purpose of the shoes. It also gives the range a natural connection to fall and Halloween-season training.
Two Options for Different Running Preferences
The AERO Spark SI is positioned as the lighter and more responsive option. Its streamlined shape and performance-focused cushioning are carried into the glow edition, alongside the Hands Free Slip-ins system designed to make putting the shoes on easier.
The AERO Burst SI takes a more cushioning-focused approach. It is designed around a comfortable feel for everyday running, giving the two-model series a choice between a lighter ride and a softer, more cushioned direction.
That distinction matters for athletes adjusting their training routines through the seasonal shift. The glow feature is shared, but the underlying models are aimed at different preferences on the run.
A Seasonal Extra, Not Safety Equipment
The Skechers AERO Glow in the Dark series is available now, with both the Spark SI and Burst SI included in the fall launch. The timing is relevant for runners whose regular sessions increasingly finish after sunset or begin before sunrise.
The illuminated outsole should not be treated as dedicated visibility equipment. Anyone running in low-light conditions should continue using suitable reflective or illuminated gear when needed to help remain visible to drivers and other road users.
